CAREER DEVELOPMENT:
At Co-op, we invest in our team members to support their professional growth, development and success. Team members are able to advance to positions of greater responsibility with experience. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Training workshops and development programs are available to team members at all levels. In-house programs and outside courses training opportunities are available.
- Student programs: Provides summer employment or co-operative education placements to students in diploma or degree programs to support their career development and prepare them for future opportunities. Check out the CRS Scholarship Program, Excellence in Ag, and Student Development Program pages for more information.
- Management programs: Provides formal commodity training programs, leadership development, mentorship opportunities, training seminars and hands-on experience to manage the operations for a department or the entire co-operative association.
CO-OPERATIVE EDUCATION POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS
Discovery Co-op provides learning beyond the classroom through participation co-operative education programs. Experience provides valuable opportunities to apply existing knowledge and acquire skills and competencies for career success. Positions vary from year to year, but may include Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Human Resources, and Operations Management. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT TEAM MEMBER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Discovery Co-op supports young team members in attaining post-secondary education goals by offering a high school student scholarship fund for actively employed team members. For each of our high school student team members, we set aside a scholarship fund that accrues $0.35 per hour worked from the time they commence employment up until their grade 12 graduation. Note: students must still be employed with Discovery Co-op at the time of their graduation in order to be eligible for their scholarship.

DISCOVERY CO-OP SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Each year, Discovery Co-operative Ltd. proudly presents $500 scholarship awards to local high school institutions and the Northwest College to recognize and support future leaders in our community. These awards celebrate and honor one outstanding student who is pursuing a post-secondary program in business administration, commerce, trades, or agriculture. The chosen recipient will have demonstrated academic excellence with an 80% average and a commitment to community through a minimum of 20 hours of community volunteer service. Preference will be given to applicants who are currently connected to Discovery Co-op through membership or employment.
