RECIPE - Red Wine Cranberries

In our family, fall meals typically lean towards warm, home-cooked, comfort foods. It's a great time to share a meal with friends and family, and remind ourselves to slow down and enjoy our time together.

This red wine cranberry sauce packs so much flavour and comfort in to such a simple recipe, it'll make you rethink buying the canned cranberries ever again!

Enjoy this sauce paired with warm brie, as part of a glaze for meat, or aside your roast chicken or turkey.

RED WINE CRANBERRIES

Ingredients
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup Peller Family Vineyards Cabernet Merlot
1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries, rinsed
1 cinnamon stick
2 tablespoons orange zest, cut into slivers

1. Combine sugar with red wine, and bring to a boil over medium heat.
2. Add the cranberries, cinnamon stick and orange peel. Bring themixture back to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer, stirring often, for 10 to 15 minutes.
3. Remove from heat, and spoon into jars with tight-fitting lids.
Store in refrigerator.
